Mark Turley is the Math Instructor for the Individualized Learning Program (ILP) just instituted this year at Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts. Mark grew up in the Seattle area and served an LDS mission in South Africa. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. He then worked for the Navy at an R&D lab in San Diego for 20 years. He also spent two years serving in the Pentagon as a Science Advisor. After retiring, Mark and his family moved to Utah in 2006. Mark eventually went back to school and attended the University of Utah, studying math and education. He worked for two years as a math tutor at SLSPA and he is enjoying his new position with the school.
Outside of work Mark enjoys hiking and just being outdoors. He also enjoys traveling and has been to 49 states. He loves spending time with his daughters and watching them become adults. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and they have been attending many plays and concerts lately.
