He received his Master’s Degree in piano performance from the University of Utah where he studied with Dr. Heather Conner and Dr. Caleb Harris. Previously, Mr. Wambolt received his Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance from the University of Northern Colorado under Dr. Errol Haun and Dr. Stephen Pierce.

While at the University of Utah, Mr. Wambolt was a teaching assistant and accompanist. He served as both rehearsal and performance pianist for the University of Utah’s Chamber and A Capella choirs under the direction of Dr. Barlow Bradford. He also worked with the U of U's New Music Ensemble with whom he performed works by Berio and Cage. Mr. Wambolt also had the privilege of serving as instructor for several of the University’s group piano classes while also teaching group piano lessons to elementary students through the University of Utah’s Piano Outreach Program. At the U, Mr. Wambolt had the pleasure of collaborating with several student composers to premiere multiple new compositions.

During his study at the University of Northern Colorado, Mr. Wambolt collaborated with many of the school's major ensembles including the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and A Capella Choir. He performed works with many student vocalists and composers. Nate accompanied opera scenes as well as several of UNC’s musical productions including Ragtime and Legally Blonde.

Throughout his studies, Mr. Wambolt has had the privilege of performing in masterclasses for Orion Weiss, Meng-Chieh Liu, Boris Slutsky, Kenneth Griffiths, and Norman Krieger.

One of Mr. Wambolt's favorite aspects of music is the ability to travel and share a common love of music world-wide. In 2014, he toured with the University of Utah Chamber Choir to Paris, Normandy, and Tours, France. In 2011, he accompanied the University of Northern Colorado Wind Ensemble on tour in Beijing and Guangzhou, China.

Beyond music, Nate enjoys movies, books, and the great outdoors.
